I have planned the timing for the trip around a wedding in Healdsburg, Sonoma of a good friend Ashley. It's become a much larger expedition now though and is very exciting!

I'm looking forward to so many different parts of the trip. I can't wait to see
Seattle after hearing so much about it. I'm looking forward to the waterfalls at
Yosemite. And am excited that it is the National Star Gazing festival at the
Grand Canyon when we are there.

I've been reading
John Steinbeck - Travels with Charley which has really got me excited about the trip. He took off in 1962, we take our trip 50 years later. He drove with a Blue Poodle, Charley. We have a plastic sniper - Snipey as our mascot. He drove in a converted pick-up with his home on the back, we have our tent and some hotels booked along the way. But despite the differences, I'm sure plenty of the sights we see will be exactly the same and maybe we'll capture some of his adventurous spirit along the way.
